Ideas for Accommodation

Hey Everyone!!
Francistown

1.       Dumela Lodge www.dumelalodge.com
Rate is R298 per person sharing in en-suite Chalets. Close to town, on route. Dop available.
This would be my recommendation.
3 star hotel in town. R352
3.       Roadview Lodge www.safarinow.com/go/RoadViewLodge/
R375 pp sharing.
4.       Marang Hotel www.maranghotel.com
They didn’t come back on my e-mail, so haven’t been able to verify prices etc.

Livingstone

1.       The Zambesi Waterfront www.saafarinow.com/go/TheZambeziWaterfront
Rate is R358 per person sharing and R536 single.
NB. This is a tented camp with shared bathrooms. It does have the option of more fancy in the form of chalets. I like the idea of this one as it is on the banks of the Zambesi with sunset cruises departing from there. It has a bar and restaurant. 4kms from the falls – doesn’t sound too bad. I like this place the most, but it may not be for everyone
2.       Prana Zambia www.sleeping-out.co.za search for Prana
R330 per person sharing. Looks nice but may be some way out of town.
3.       Sunbird Guesthouse  and Tabonia Guesthouse are in Livingstone with rates from R350 to R350. To see do a Sleeping out search.
R1090 per person Sharing.
5.       Thorn Tree Lodge www.thorntreelodge.net
R2200 per person sharing

Lusaka

We are spending a night on the 8th and a night on the 11th in Lusaka. I suggest we try 2 different places, maybe Eureka on the way (it is just before Lusaka), and Lusaka Backpackers on the way back.
Sounds quite nice, but they haven’t come back to me as yet. Their self-catering could be a good option on our way up to the Copper belt. I have sent a chaser e-mail today. Has a pub.
It sounds quite good to me. This is my first choice for the way back. Lusaka city doesn’t have the attraction for  me, as say… New York City. So I think this backpackers, in the suburbs, may be fine. It is still close enough to the city and main routes we are travelling. R110 per person dorm – we could have a private room for the group, or try get twin privates. I think it is quite small. When I asked for a quote I wanted info on dorms and privates, but they only came back with dorm info. What I will try do if you decide to go for it, is to try negotiate for 3 rooms at a slightly higher price. Has a pub.
3.       Zebra Guest House www.zebraguesthouse.com
R280 – R380 for double private rooms.
This is my second  choice. Also in the suburbs. It doesn’t look too far off from the main roads. They haven’t come back to me as yet to confirm rates, but their small to medium sized double rooms are R280  and R380 respectively. Might be a safer option than the backpackers if you guys aren’t keen on Lusaka Backpackers
4.       Pamodzi Hotel www.africastay.com/pamodzi-hotel.html
They haven’t come back on me request as yet

Please have a look at our ideas on accommodation and post your own recommendations if you have any.
